Bio & History

How I came to this work

The short version: I kept meeting people who understood their problem completely and could not shift it. That is what sent me looking for something the talking was not reaching.

My story

Sharon Davis, [LMFT]

[Paragraph 1 — where she is from, how she got into therapy in the first place, what she was doing before.]

[Paragraph 2 — what she noticed in her practice that talk therapy could not reach, and what led her to somatic training.]

[Paragraph 3 — how the spiritual and energy side entered the work, and how she thinks about holding both.]

[Paragraph 4 — what she is like to sit with, and what she wants a nervous new client to know.]

[A sentence in Sharon's own words about what she believes the work is for]
Training & credentials

Where the work comes from

Somatic and spiritual work gets a lot of loose claims made about it. Here is exactly what I am trained in and licensed to do.

  • LicensureLicensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California, [LMFT #00000], since [year].
  • Somatic training[Programme name][hours / years / certification level].

  • Memberships[CAMFT or other professional bodies].
How I practise

What you can expect from me

You set the pace

Nothing gets pushed. If a session gets close to something you are not ready for, we stop there and that is a good session, not a failed one.

I say what I am doing

You will always know why I am asking you to notice your breath or your hands. No technique gets used on you without an explanation first.

I will tell you if I am not the fit

If what you need sits outside what I do — medication, a specialist, a higher level of care — I will say so on the consultation call and point you somewhere better.

Outside the office

[Optional personal section]

[A short, human paragraph — family, the coast, hiking, music, whatever she is comfortable sharing. People choose a therapist partly on whether they can picture sitting with them. Cut this section if she would rather not.]

Want to see whether we fit?

The consultation is free and there is no obligation on either side. If I am not the right therapist for you, I will say so and help you find someone who is.
