12-Step Work

A Deeper Dive into 12 Step Work

Releasing resentment and shame blocks in the body, and making cleaner amends.

An illustrated figure with one hand at the heart, dark tangles held in the chest and belly, and fine threads running out from the other hand toward several distant figures.
‘If I am so ‘happy, joyous, and free,’ why do I feel so heavy and tired?’

What can remain in the body

A drawn figure in profile, chin lifted and jaw set, with a thread of gold light running down the side of the neck into the shoulder.

Resentment

Held in the jaw, shoulders, chest, and belly. It fuels tension, reactivity, and emotional distance. The body stays on guard, even when the situation is long gone.

The body remembers the impact.

A drawn figure with the head lowered and both arms wrapped across the body, a violet light gathered at the centre of the torso.

Shame

Held in the gut, pelvis, and throat. It whispers “I’m not enough” and keeps you small, hidden, or stuck in old patterns of self-protection.

The body believes the message.

Two drawn hands reaching toward one another from opposite sides, a fine gold thread strung between them.

Unfinished Amends

Held as restlessness, loops of guilt, or a sense of not being “done.” The body stays in repair mode instead of returning to balance.

The body longs for right relationship.
